An ancient art form takes on new significance in this striking wall hanging. Traditionally painted on mud walls, villagers in India adapt the time-honored style of Mandana folk art to create this appliquéd fabric panel. The entire artwork is done by using a single piece of fabric using small hand stitches. This fair trade product is handmade by artisans in the northwestern regions of India. Income generated by this product helps develop the artisan communities. In addition, most artisans are women, and this product empowers them with sustainable employment and helps them become socio-economically independent. Each measures a generous 52" x 32" (just over 4' high and 2' wide) and can take up a significant piece of any wall!
