Our Peeping Frog is handmade by Bagladeshi women who were left destitute after the struggle for independence from Pakistan. The women work with The Jute Works organization which strives to empower women in rural areas through handicraft production, animal husbandry and small job creation projects. The group works with women irrespective of caste, creed and race. It also provides job training, develops leadership skills and generates awareness of the women’s plight. The group began in 1973 and today proudly works with 4,860 rural artisans. The Peeping Frog is 4” tall and is two-toned. It hangs nicely from any pot and is made from terra cotta.
