Both women and men form the 50-person cooperative in El Salvador who make this fun elephant frame in the famous La Palma Folk Art style. The men plane and cut the wood while the women painstakely paint each piece by hand. Hope has been hard to come by in the rural areas of El Salvador as poverty worsens and crime is on the rise. Yet, the artisans continue to struggle for the benefit of their children as the extra income provides for better nutrition and educational opportunities for their children. Each frame allows for two 2" x 3" photos. A fun addition to any home!
